దక్షిణ తీర రైల్వే (South Coast Railway – SCoR) గురుండి అవగాహన

ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ప్రజల దశాబ్దాల కల సాకారం చేస్తూ, విశాఖపట్నం కేంద్రంగా దక్షిణ తీర రైల్వే (South Coast Railway – SCoR) అధికారికంగా ఏర్పాటయింది. భారతీయ రైల్వేలలో 18వ జోన్‌గా పరిగణించబడుతున్న ఈ జోన్, జూన్ 1, 2026 నుండి తన కార్యకలాపాలను పూర్తి స్థాయిలో ప్రారంభించింది. .

జోన్  ఆవిర్భావానికి దశలు – దక్షిణ తీర రైల్వే జోన్ ఏర్పాటుకు మార్గం సుగమం చేస్తూ ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ పునర్వ్యవస్థీకరణ చట్టం, 2014ను ఆమోదించారు. భారత ప్రభుత్వం 17 ఫిబ్రవరి 2019న ఈ జోన్ ఏర్పాటును ప్రకటించింది.  28 ఫిబ్రవరి 2019న, కేంద్ర మంత్రివర్గం వివరణాత్మక ప్రాజెక్ట్ నివేదికను ఆమోదించింది. ఆరేళ్ల  తర్వాత, ప్రధానమంత్రి నరేంద్ర మోదీ 8 జనవరి 2025న విశాఖపట్నంలో ప్రధాన కార్యాలయం నిర్మాణానికి శంకుస్థాపన చేశారు. కేంద్ర మంత్రివర్గం 7 ఫిబ్రవరి 2025న దక్షిణ తీర రైల్వే జోన్ యొక్క తుది వివరణాత్మక ప్రాజెక్ట్ నివేదికకు పాక్షిక మార్పులతో పోస్ట్-ఫాక్టో ఆమోదం తెలిపింది.  తరువాత, 28 ఏప్రిల్ 2026న, రైల్వే మంత్రి అశ్విని వైష్ణవ్ కొత్త దక్షిణ తీర జోన్ 1 జూన్ 2026 నుండి ఉనికిలోకి వచ్చి పనిచేయడం ప్రారంభిస్తుందని ప్రకటించారు-

విభాగాలు	దక్షిణ తీర రైల్వే నాలుగు రైల్వే విభాగాలను కలిగి ఉంది. అవి:                 విశాఖపట్నం రైల్వే డివిజన్,                 విజయవాడ రైల్వే డివిజన్ .                గుంతకల్ రైల్వే డివిజన్,                 గుంటూరు రైల్వే డివిజన్
ప్రస్తుత  విశాఖపట్నండివిజన్  ఆవిర్భవించిన విధానం	వాల్తేరు డివిజన్‌లోని 1106 కిలోమీటర్ల మార్గం ఈస్ట్ కోస్ట్   రైల్వే – రాయగడ డివిజన్ (541  కి.మీ.), ఖుర్దా డివిజన్ (115  కి.మీ.)  సౌత్ కోస్ట్ రైల్వే  విశాఖపట్నం డివిజన్ (460  కి.మీ.) మధ్య పంపిణీ చేయబడింది.
వాలటైర్ డివిజన్ పేరు మార్పు	దక్షిణ తీర రైల్వేలో  చేరిన  వాలటైర్ డివిజన్ సకళానికి   విశాఖపట్నం డివిజన్ గా  మార్చబడింది
